National identity is a funny old thing. As a young person, I think you probably start off inheriting your national identity from your parents but as you get older, particularly if you move away and make your home some place else, it becomes a more complicated. This is my reading list from 2009; I managed 29 novels, 5 trade paperback collections of comics and the entire of Strangers in Paradise (I'm not sure how many that counts as, it's about 150 comics all said and told I think!). Not bad going really.

The last couple of nights, I've been watching Electric Dreams on BBC4 - it's a reality show documentary thing where a family live like people from 1970 onwards, with all the gadgets of the period to see how it affects their family life. Words from gothadh this time: DundeeQuite possibly the most under-rated city in Scotland. People tend to be really rude about it because it is kind of down-at-heel but there are some really lovely bits, the people are friendlier than anywhere else I've lived, and I really love the position of the place.
